Published by John Cassell, London. 1854. 4to. Volume II only. Half-bound in leather and sides of marble paper boards, with gilt lettering and detailing to the spine. This volume is in Very Good+ condition. There is some bumping to the spine ends, board edges and corners and some fading and wear to the boards. The binding is in tact with minimal cracking to the ends of the spine. Internally, there is some age spotting and toning, but this is minimal for a book of this age and is predominantly to the endpapers with the main body of the book in remarkable condition and the numerous illustrations all intact.
In all, this is an excellent copy of this book, providing a wealth of information on thie history of the arts in the mid-nineteenth century. This would be an excellent acquisition for anyone with an interest in the history of Britain and the development of industries and culture during this period.
