It is bound in it’s original black cloth with gilt decorative illustration to the front cover and with gold gilt lettering and detail to the spine. Inside, it is illustrated by Pauline Baynes and the pages are clean and bright and free from any damage or marks. The book comes wrapped in tissue paper and stored in its original slipcase, which is also in Fine condition, with the printed title label to the front of the box. In all, this is an exceptional, and very collectible, example of this collection of classic tales by this ever popular author.
This lovely book is an exceptional example of this deluxe edition of the popular tales by the much loved author of Middle Earth and is a rare find in such excellent condition, particularly with the slipcase still so well preserved and virtually as new. Indeed, this would be an excellent addition to any rare book collection.
