Published by George Allen and Unwin, London; 1979. First India Paper Deluxe Edition, 7th impression of the cult classic, Lord of the Rings. This beautiful book is in Fine condition, tightly bound in it's original publisher's black cloth boards, with Tolkien's illustration of the Numenorean throne with "Elendil" in Tengwar in gilt to the centre of the front board and gilt lettering and detail to the spine. Inside, printed on the thin, dense India Paper that is often used for bibles, the pages are clean and bright and blemish free, with the blue speckles to the paper ends. The book comes with all three maps, of which two are folding and all are complete, unmarked and entirely intact. This exceptional copy of this edition is housed in a slipcase, which is also in Fine condition, free from marks and with no damage to speak of. In all, it is an exceptional example of the deluxe edition first printing of the ever-popular classic trilogy by Tolkien, which is popular across generations and would be the perfect addition to any Tolkien collection, or the ideal gift for any Tolkien fan.
