Published by Collins, for the Crime club. London; 1941. 8vo. This is an extremely rare UK First Edition, first impression of this novel by one of the world’s most famous and popular Crime writers, Agatha Christie. It is very hard to come by, particularly with the dust jacket and, as such, is highly collectible.
The book is in Very Good condition, bound in it’s original boards with black lettering to the spine. There is a lean to the spine and some small marks to the boards. There is a small amount of bumping to the spine ends, board corners and edges. Internally, the pages are remarkably clean and bright with just a minor amount of toning to the pages and the odd age spot. There is some slight splitting at the spine visible on just a few pages, but otherwise this book is in very tidy condition.
The dust jacket is also in Very Good condition. There is some chipping to the edges and wraparound, with just a small amount of loss to the top of the spine. There is slight rubbing and toning to the panels, partiucularly the back, and it is unfortunatley price clipped. Otherwise, the jacket is well preserved and remains bright and largely clean.
In all, this is an extremely rare tidy example of this UK first edition, currently one of the only copies available to buy. As such, this is a highly collectible book in very good condition.
